Chester Bennington, the lead singer of the band Linkin Park was found dead on July 20, 2017 at his home in a Southern California coastal community. Chester Bennington’s cause of death was suicide.
Law enforcement sources told the media that Bennington was home alone at the time of the suicide, his family was out of town, and he was found by an employee.

The Linkin Park lead singer had said in the past that he had considered committing suicide because of his tragic childhood when he had been sexually abused by an older male.
Bennington struggled with drugs and alcohol for years.
